In our gadget filled world we are often confronted with two choices for wireless “WiFi” or “3g” the WiFi option is usually much cheaper, and to be honest a better deal by far!
Let’s face it almost every smart phone out there can share it’s 3g or 4g connection by becoming a hot spot. In this case your ipad or nook or kindle can hook up using the wifi option and the speed is almost identical, while the cost is amazingly less! Using the wifi only on your gadgets you don’t need another wireless contract. If you say that your phone can not become a hotspot – just wait a month or two it is coming!
So now with that extra contract money you just saved you can send a nice amazon or apple gift card to your favorite blogger!
The project you are working on is a group project, but the members of your committee are not even in the same building. You could “old school it” and email the document to all of them for input then get all the drafts back and try to get all the edits into one, meanwhile you have 8 copies of the same document on your computer – Good Luck!
While there are several options open to you, Microsoft has a very interesting option for you. It’s called Office Web Apps. It’s free and has many of the same features as the very popular Google Docs. You can write, edit and share documents online.
This is one of the services Microsoft launched under its SkyDrive. That means you get a lot of online storage space. Microsoft offers 25 gigabytes of free storage, to be exact. Did I mention that its FREE
With that much space, you can share more than simple Word documents. You can also share photos, videos and more.
Getting SkyDrive/Office Web Apps is quite easy. All you have to do is create a Windows Live account, which again is free. Once you have an account, you can create new documents from scratch.
When it comes to online registration – quick and easy I turn to one place. Wufoo. No Wufoo is not some new Asian recipe. It is a way to add professional looking, and acting forms to your website. I use Wufoo forms throughout our youth and church website for anything from Vacation Bible School online Registration to our youth Crazy Caption Photo Contest. In just 5 minutes I can design and launch a online form that collects what I want it to collect. Some of the great features hidded in this little beauty are:

There is a site I stumbled on a few years ago and I return to from time to time to see what new graphics they have added. The site is Xpiritmental.com it bills itself as a resource that is designed to inspire creativity and conversation among Christ-followers. What brings me back to their site over and over is the fantastic graphic wallpapers they provide for free.
They also have separate blog site entitled Xpiritmental is a resource. It’s a place to learn and to share thoughts on marketing, ministry, design, service, the Web, culture and more. They start the conversation, and they are looking forward to hearing what you’ve got to say.

Photo editing, and filing, as well as online photo albums has never been easier!
If you scan your entire computer, Picasa will find cached Internet files, graphics from computer programs, and other images that you probably don’t need in your photo album. You can remove files later, but it’s easier not to import them in the first place.
You can also import photos directly from a digital camera, which is a handy way to keep them organized from the start.
You can move thumbnails from folder to folder directly from Picasa, and it will confirm and then move the corresponding file on your hard drive. This makes it much easier to organize albums.
It also now has face scaning which will help you tag people quickly and easily to find them later… cool feature!
You can also label or star photos to make them easy to find later. You can even geotag photos by location.This lets you view the photos geographically in Google Earth.

You can also very quickly and easily upload your photos to a free online gallery. You can make it public, share with a few or make completly private… lots of choice.
Did I mention that it’s all FREE!

So you are looking for an easy way to create PDF files but without the hefty price tag of Adobe Acrobat. I might have just the program for you, PDFCreator.
With this simple FREE program, you can send formatted documents and have them retain their appearance on another monitor or printer. The program is called PDFCreator. Just as the name suggests, one you download this file, and install it, the download adds a PDF creator under your computer’s list of printers.
It is just as simple as printing your file to the PDFCreator (just as you would any other windows printer) and your document will save in PDF format. You can then read, print or e-mail the finished product.

Well the day arrived, I put it off as long as I could, but I finally felt It was time for a clean install of the OS on my personal laptop. So with my check list in hand I got ready for it…
Then I was ready to start. I got out my Windows7 Upgrade Install Disc and prayed that it would install clean or sould I say “custom” since that is what Microsoft calls it these days, with out my having to do the who upgrade check, vista load etc.
IT WORKED
So the system is up and running again time to take a look at my article “First Things First” and refresh my memory on some of those first key steps of setting up a new computer.
So, after loading anto virus (I used the free Panda Cloud Anti-Virus) and my firewall (I used the free Zone Alarm) it is time to get all my favorites back on to my system. I thought I would take you along on the ride. Here’s what I added next:
